Mord Fustang, another kid in the game, hit the ground running with his first single The Electric Dream.  It was so hype it got up to #3 on Beatport! We talked about his newest single, the origins of his name and, of course, #WINNING!

dannahan: Mord Fustang. How did you get the idea and why?

Mord Fustang: I’m actually not a hundred percent sure.. I remember making the first letter switch thingie with the name of a friend at school, because it also sounded funny and hey, I kinda like the ‘69 Mustang. I’ve never driven one tho… Also, MF is cool as a logo I think, ‘cause I know you can probably think of another two words to fit these two first letters. :D

d: Tallinn, Estonia. What’s interesting about your hometown?

MF: Well, most Estonians would probably say Tallinn’s Old Town. I have to say that there’s this certain good feeling that kind of fills the air, especially during the weekends, when you see drunk Finnish people or something. Oh, and btw in the winter it’s damn cold here. Cold and slippery.

d: What video games do you usually play besides RPG based ones?

MF: I don’t play much nowadays, but I’ve been a big fan of the Metal Gear Solid series for example. I’m also quite fond of 2D platformers, especially ones of the 8-bit and 16-bit era.

d: How long have you been DJing/producing music?

MF: For about 2 and a half years now I think. I did play the piano and the guitar a long time before that tho.

d: You’re 20. Why do you think some of the top producers are under drinking age? (Madeon - 16, Porter Robinson - 18)

MF: I don’t know, fresh thinking is fresh I guess.

d: Is there a picture of you?

MF: I’m actually going to take some shots later this week… But hey, meanwhile have this photo of my NES. I have actually sampled a oneshot blip somewhere in one of my tunes…

d: What else inspires you?

MF: Everything I see-hear-feel-smell-taste-play-whatever… Tarantino’s movies, heavy metal, the weather, video games and Charlie Sheen.

d: What is your newest track?

MF: “Super Meat Freeze”, the goal is to make your muscles freeze…

d: What is your favorite cartoon?

MF: I loved Tom & Jerry shorts as a kid. Right now I really like Family Guy.

d: Guilty Pleasure?

MF: I watch Gossip Girl, *laugh*
